While the BD community is one of the more welcoming communities I have seen, it is still very nice, and more than comforting to people who are shy or are not yet entirely comfortable , to feel a bit of a boost of confidence to see others involved that "look like them". I would love to see this happen. Who is involved? Has it started shooting? We have a lot of pioneers and up and coming Bellydancers of Colors that I would love to see. Shira, you are right. There is a lot of racial imbalance in Middle Eastern dance (an ethnic dance) that Bellydancers of Color are still fighting for recognition in. I hope this will change very soon. Of course, I say yes, and I tell them about some of the lovely dancers I know who can serve as role models for them. But I'd love to be able to steer them to a video that is full of beautiful dancers that "look like them". What stage are you at in the project now? Still looking for video footage?
